The poster for the Melbourne 1956 Olympic Games features a large, three-page invitation. The clean-cut design is enriched with the Olympic rings on the foreground page while on the last page, the coat of arms of the city of Melbourne is depicted.
The design by British Richard Beck (1912-1985) was first used in a series of stamps issued by the Australia Post in 1954.
